  1. “Streha” Center Background

Streha Center provides services to the LGBTIQ+ community in Albania and the region in cases of emergencies, including shelter and other psycho-social services for the empowerment of LGBTI+ individuals. The aim of Streha is to empower and assist LGBTIQ+ individuals, mainly youth, through its multidisciplinary and residential services, capacity-building of service providers, public awareness, and advocacy, in order to overcome barriers and difficulties faced by the LGBTI+ community in families and society.

  • Project Background

The goal of this project is to create inclusive, safe, and affirming environments for LGBTI+ youth in Korça, Lezhë, and Lushnja, by strengthening the capacity of local NGOs and public institutions to actively include LGBTI+ individuals in community life, provide affirmative services, and improve access to protection mechanisms.

This project aims to improve the situation of LGBTI+ people through four key pillars:

(1) Developing the capacities of local NGOs and institutions.

(2) Establish strategic partnerships with local actors.

(3) Facilitate connection and support services for LGBTI+ individuals.

(4) Promote public awareness and positive social change.

  •  Objective

The Outreach Expert will play a key role in implementing field activities and community engagement under the project. They will work closely with the project team to identify, reach, and support LGBTI+ individuals, strengthen connections with local stakeholders, and increase visibility of Streha’s services and advocacy work in the three target cities.

  •  Scope of Work

The Outreach Expert will be responsible for:

  • Conducting outreach activities and meetings with LGBTI+ individuals, informal groups, and allies in Lezhë, Korçë, and Lushnjë.
  • Presenting Streha Center’s services and ensuring that potential beneficiaries have access to clear and reliable information.
  • Building and maintaining regular communication with community leaders, youth activists, and LGBTI+ organisations at the local level.
  • Supporting the identification and referral of beneficiaries to Streha’s services (psychosocial, legal, and housing support).
  • Developing and implementing outreach strategies to increase the project’s visibility and ensure participation from diverse groups.
  • Coordinating with the Project Coordinator and Social Media Manager to share field insights and community needs.
  • Participating in regular coordination and reporting meetings with the project team.

  • Monthly activity reports describing outreach meetings, key observations, and results achieved.
  • Updated contact lists of local community leaders, NGOs, and stakeholders in the three regions.
  • Outreach initiatives or community meetings organised per target city during the contract period.
  • Final summary report of outreach activities and recommendations for sustainability.

  • Required Qualifications
    • At least 2 years of experience in community work, outreach, or field-based activities.
    • Proven experience working with LGBTI+ communities, youth groups, or other vulnerable populations.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Sensitivity to human rights, inclusion, and diversity.
    • Ability to travel to project locations (Lezhë, Korçë, Lushnjë).
    • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
