Streha, Albania’s leading LGBTIQ+ shelter, successfully hosted its 7th Annual Charity Gala on April 13, 2023, at the Plaza Hotel. This year, the gala returned with an exciting twist – attendees were able to attend both in person and online!
Streha has been a beacon of hope for LGBTQ+ individuals in Albania and neighboring regions since its inception. Dedicated to serving primarily youth aged 18-29, Streha offers a comprehensive range of services, including safe accommodation, psycho-social counseling, legal aid, health services, employment support, and more. Through its tireless efforts, Streha has empowered countless individuals to navigate through challenging circumstances and thrive.
Since 2015, Streha has organized annual galas to raise essential funds for its vital work. These galas have not only contributed significantly to fundraising targets but have also served as platforms for advocacy and celebration. Welcoming over 180 attendees, including activists, queer artists, politicians, and supporters of the shelter, the galas have become cherished traditions promoting diversity and fostering positive change in Albanian society.
This year’s Gala Under the moderation of Blendi Salaj, Gala 2023 featured a special guest appearance by Elina Duni and performances by Marsela Cibukaj, offering a night of celebration and kindness for 180 attendees. An auction during the event showcased remarkable items, contributing to the cause of supporting LGBT+ individuals.
