With direct assistance from Germany, the Albanian organization Shelter will monitor and evaluate on the following months the situation of LGBTI+ people across the country and draft a manual on the “Minimum Standards of Residential Services for LGBTI+”, which would help many other organizations in the future, with their approach on offering services to members of the community.

Other measures under this project will include support for mediation with the families of individuals in need of shelter, vocational training and mobile services accessible for LGBTI people throughout the country.

The German Ambassador Mr. Peter Zingraf and a representative from the “Shelter” signed a few days ago, on the premises of the German Embassy in Tirana, the agreement on the implementation of the new project, which will help many LGBTI+ individuals in Albania and contribute to creating a more empowered community through easing their integration into society.
